A drywood colony is comprised of kings, queens and soldiers. The immature
termites do the work prior to developing into adults. The kings and
queens are light to dark brown and serve the reproductive functions.
The soldiers guard the colony against intruders, including ants. The
soldiers and immatures are white, do not have wings and do not leave
the nest.
